About Pocket Accountant
Pocket Accountant is a small, focused collection of finance calculators built for Indian users. The project started with a simple frustration: most Indian finance calculators online are either slow, plastered with intrusive ads, or force you to sign up before they'll show you a single number. We wanted something better — clean, fast, private, and accurate enough to actually trust.
What we offer
Over 44 free calculators organized into 4 focused categories:
- Tax & Salary — GST, Income Tax (FY 2025-26 comparison), HRA Exemption, TDS deductions, Capital Gains Tax, CTC to In-hand Take-home, Gratuity, EPF retirement, and Retirement planning.
- Loans & Invest — EMI, Home Loan, Car Loan, Personal Loan, Education Loan, Loan Eligibility, SIP returns, Fixed Deposit (FD), PPF, RD, NPS, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY), Lumpsum, SWP, CAGR, and Mutual Funds.
- Health & Math — BMI, Calorie counter, general Percentage, GPA Calculator, Fraction Calculator, and Scientific Calculator.
- Utils & Business — Age finder, Word Counter, Password Generator, Unit Converter, Date Calculator, Love Calculator, Profit Margin, Break-Even analysis, ROI, and Google AdSense revenue projections.
Our principles
Privacy first. Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser. Your salary, loan amount, investment and tax numbers never leave your device. There is no backend, no analytics on your inputs, no cookies tracking you across pages. You can switch off your internet after the page loads and the calculators will keep working.
Speed. Pages are pure HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript — no React, no jQuery, no analytics bloat. The total payload per page is well under 50 KB. Calculations update in real time as you type, with no "Calculate" button and no page reloads.
Accuracy. All formulas are documented on each calculator page. We use the standard reducing-balance EMI formula, the SIP annuity-due formula, and the FY 2024-25 Union Budget tax slabs. If you spot a calculation that looks wrong, please email us — we'd rather fix it than ship a wrong number.
Indian context. Indian GST slabs, lakh and crore number formatting, Indian rupee symbols everywhere, HRA exemption logic that respects metro vs non-metro, and tax slabs that match the latest Union Budget. We are built for India, not adapted from a US template.
How we make money
Pocket Accountant is supported by display advertising through Google AdSense. Ads are placed in clearly marked slots — above and below the calculator tool, and in a sidebar on desktop — and never cover or interfere with the tool itself. We do not accept paid placements, sponsored content, or affiliate links that bias calculator output. If you find an ad misleading or intrusive, please report it and we'll review the placement.
What we are not
We are not financial advisors, chartered accountants, or certified investment consultants. The calculators on this site are for educational and planning purposes only. Tax laws change every Budget, mutual fund returns fluctuate daily, and your specific situation may have edge cases the calculators don't model. Always verify the numbers with a qualified professional before making financial decisions — especially for large loans, tax filing, or long-term investments.

How to use the calculators
Each calculator page follows the same structure: a short intro at the top explaining what the tool does, the tool itself (with inputs and real-time results), a formula explanation so you can verify the maths, a worked example with realistic numbers, a 5-question FAQ covering common confusions, and links to related calculators at the bottom. Use the dark-mode toggle in the header if you prefer a darker theme, and the menu icon on mobile to switch between calculators.
All tools support keyboard navigation. Press Tab to move between inputs, and use the number keys to enter values. Results update instantly — no need to click any "Calculate" button. To reset a calculator to its default values, simply refresh the page.
