This Privacy Policy describes how Pocket Accountant ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you visit pocketaccountant.in (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described below.

1. The short version

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the numbers you enter into our calculators. Every calculation happens entirely in your browser. Your salary, loan amount, SIP investment, CTC and AdSense figures never leave your device. We do not have a database of user inputs, we do not run analytics on calculator inputs, and we do not sell or share any personal information with third parties.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the minimal information needed to operate the Site:

• Theme preference — Your light/dark mode choice is stored in your browser's localStorage under the key cb-theme. This never leaves your device.
• Server logs — Our hosting provider may automatically log standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, timestamp, requested URL) for security and abuse prevention. These logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days and are not associated with your calculator inputs.
• AdSense cookies — See Section 4 below.

3. How we use information

Server log data is used solely to keep the Site secure and operational — for example, to detect bots, block abusive traffic, or debug server errors. We do not use this data to build user profiles, send marketing communications, or sell to third parties.

4. Google AdSense and cookies

This Site displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our Site and/or other sites on the internet.

• Google may use the DoubleClick cookie to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site and other sites.
• Users can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
• You can also opt out of third-party cookies in your browser settings, or use the aboutads.info opt-out page.

5. Third-party links

Our Site may contain links to external websites (such as Google Ads Settings, the Income Tax Department of India, or mutual fund AMCs). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites and recommend reading their privacy policies separately.

6. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for general audiences in India and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. Data security

Because we do not collect or store calculator inputs, there is no database of personal financial data to breach. Server logs (IP addresses and user agents) are protected by our hosting provider's standard security controls and are rotated every 30 days.

8. Your rights

Under applicable Indian data protection regulations (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you have the right to:

• Request access to any personal data we hold about you;
• Request correction or deletion of your personal data;
• Opt out of personalised advertising via Google's Ads Settings;
• Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India if you believe your rights have been violated.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
