Free Indian finance calculators — explained

Pocket Accountant is a small, focused collection of finance calculators built specifically for Indian users. Whether you're a freelancer computing GST on an invoice, a salaried employee trying to understand your in-hand salary, or a first-time investor estimating SIP returns, the maths is rarely the hard part — finding a clean, fast, ad-light tool to do it is. That gap is what Pocket Accountant fills.

Each calculator on this site runs entirely client-side. That means once the page loads, no further network requests are made for the maths — you can switch off your internet and the calculators will keep working. This also means your inputs (your salary, your loan amount, your investment) never touch a server. For a finance tool, that privacy guarantee is non-negotiable.

We've used Indian number formatting throughout — amounts display as ₹1,20,000 (lakhs and crores, not millions), and tax slabs reflect the FY 2024-25 Union Budget for both the new and old regimes. Where relevant, calculators also show CGST/SGST/IGST splits, HRA exemption logic, and the reducing-balance EMI formula. Each tool includes a worked example, a short formula explainer, and a 5-question FAQ to help you interpret the numbers correctly.

How to use these calculators

Start by picking the calculator that matches your need from the grid above. On every calculator page, the tool sits at the top of the page — just type your numbers into the inputs and the results update instantly. Below the tool you'll find a formula explanation (so you can verify the maths yourself), a worked example with realistic numbers, and a short FAQ covering edge cases and common confusions. At the bottom of each page we link to related calculators that you might also find useful.

If you spot a calculation that looks off, please reach out — we'd rather fix it than ship a wrong number. All formulas are documented on each page so you can sanity-check the output against any other calculator or your own spreadsheet.
